DOGS, the popular Telegram-based memecoin, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Best Friends Animal Society, a nonprofit dedicated to helping millions of homeless pets across the U.S.
This collaboration aligns the crypto platform’s charitable mission with Best Friends’ “No-Kill by 2025 Pledge,” aiming to ensure every adoptable pet finds a loving home.
DOGS Memecoin Joins Forces with Best Friends: A New Hope for Homeless Strays?
In a joint announcement, DOGS pledged its support for Best Friends’ “No-Kill by 2025 Pledge,” which aims to achieve a 90% save rate for animals entering shelters across the U.S.
Over the next year, DOGS will provide financial assistance to shelters, helping them meet the no-kill goal and ensure the safety of animals nationwide.
As of 2023, U.S. shelters have achieved an 83% save rate, rescuing 3.97 million of the 4.76 million cats and dogs housed in shelters.
DOGS’ contribution is expected to significantly aid the effort to reach the 90% benchmark by 2025.
DOGS will also fund one month of care for dogs adopted through the program, encouraging community involvement and spreading awareness about how to help shelter animals.
Additionally, DOGS plans to launch a platform where nonprofit organizations worldwide can apply for funding, expanding its charitable outreach.
The partnership includes a $150,000 donation from the DOGS community to Best Friends Animal Society.
This contribution will help find homes for animals like Rusty, a long-time resident at the organization’s sanctuary in Kanab, Utah.
Best Friends expressed their excitement on social media, emphasizing that this collaboration marks a pivotal moment in using innovative platforms like DOGS to advance their mission to “Save Them All.”
Andrew, the founder of DOGS, described the partnership as a “call to action” for the crypto community to support animal welfare.
“Together, we’re showing how blockchain innovation and compassion can unite to transform lives—not only for animals but for the families who embrace them.”

The no-kill principle prioritizes rehabilitation and rehoming animals, with only a small percentage—those suffering from untreatable behavioral or physical issues—being considered unsalvageable.
Since its inception, the DOGS community has raised over $450,000 for various causes, including cancer research, Save the Children, and Animal Charity Evaluators.
This new partnership builds on its legacy of using blockchain and meme culture to drive impactful philanthropy.
As part of this partnership, DOGS’ mascot, Spotty, will serve as the official ambassador for Best Friends Animal Society.
The black-and-white spotted dog, originally created by Telegram and VK founder Pavel Durov during a charity auction, will appear in events and promotional materials over the next year.
As part of this collaboration, DOGS announced the development of a website where nonprofits worldwide can apply for funding. Details about eligibility and application processes will be shared soon.
