The post Elon Musk Launches AI Chatbot, GROK Token Soars! appeared first on Coinpedia Fintech News
In a big announcement this July, Elon Musk unveiled his latest project, xAI, aimed at creating an AI that can search for ultimate truths about life and the universe. Now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for has arrived – the launch of the AI chatbot.
Drawing inspiration from the iconic Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, the team behind Grok claims that the app is “intended to answer almost anything and, far harder, even suggest what questions to ask.”
But wait – can it beat Chat GPT 3.5?
GROK Tokens Soar!
The recent surge in GROK tokens is directly linked to the launch of Grok’s AI chatbot service, introduced through the social app X. Although not officially part of the Grok service, these tokens quickly became popular among short-term cryptocurrency traders.

Crypto Community Reacts
Over a single weekend, anonymous developers introduced nearly 400 different GROK tokens, and in just a few days, these tokens collectively reached a market value of $10 million. The ability to create tokens on platforms like Ethereum and the presence of decentralized exchanges made it easy to create, supply liquidity, and trade these tokens at low costs.
The remarkable rise in GROK tokens can mostly be credited to the launch of Grok’s AI chatbot service. Known for its candid and humorous approach, the service gained a devoted following quickly, even without direct ties to the service.
While some GROK tokens performed exceptionally well, one Ethereum-based GROK token, for instance, achieved a market value of $10 million within days of its launch. With thousands of investors and substantial trading volumes, early backers reaped significant unrealized profits. Similarly, a GROK token on the Base network reached a market value of $4.32 million, with daily trading volumes reaching $3.5 million.
Identifying the Hurdles
Unfortunately, not all GROK token releases were made with good intentions. Certain developers behind GROK tokens executed what’s commonly called “rug pulls,” which means they suddenly removed liquidity from their tokens. This devious move led to cumulative losses exceeding $1 million for unsuspecting speculators.
While this isn’t a new occurrence, opportunistic players have a history of creating tokens in response to various trends, influential tweets, or even corporate humor on official Twitter accounts. These tokens often generate initial excitement and profits, but more often than not, they experience a rapid decline, with many losing over 99% of their value within a few weeks as the initial excitement wanes.
Grok’s Time in the Spotlight
Notably, Grok, powered by the Grok-1 model, stands out for its excellence in mathematics and reasoning. Although it doesn’t reach the level of GPT-4, it highlights the steady progress of xAI. Excitingly, Grok’s future updates will include audio and visual capabilities, promising to enhance real-time interactions and assistance.
What do you think about Grok? Will it be a game-changer in the AI world?
