The post 18% Possibility of Vitalik Buterin Facing Prison Sentence Says Charles Hoskinson Cardano Founder appeared first on Coinpedia Fintech News
Renowned blockchain figure Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, recently added a unique twist to discussions about crypto influence rankings, suggesting an 18% chance of a prison sentence for Ethereum’s co-founder, Vitalik Buterin.
Most Influential list
On Monday, CoinDesk released a list of the most influential crypto personalities of 2023. Perhaps in that list coindesk revealed that Vitalik Buterin has consistently held the title of the most influential crypto personality four times since 2014, outpacing other notable figures in the crypto space.
Other major figures who have appeared more than once include Balaji Srinivasan, Satoshi Nakamota, Andre Cronje, Andreas Antonopoulos, Brian Armstrong, Changpeng Zhao, Cynthia Lummis, Do Kwon, Gary Gensler, Gavin Andresen, Jack Dorsey, Jeremy Allaire, Jerome Powell, Pieter Wuille, Sam Bankman-Fried.
This led to CoinDesk posing a question to the community about the possibility of Buterin securing a fifth appearance in the 2023 rankings.
Charles Hoskinson Comment
Charles Hoskinson entered the conversation with an unexpected comment, diverting attention from Buterin’s influential status.
He humorously remarked, “Appearing on Coindesk’s most influential list carries an 18 percent chance of a prison sentence,” presenting it as a quirky ‘fun fact.’
Hoskinson based his “18% chance of prison” on the fact that, out of the 16 crypto personalities on the CoinDesk ranking, three have faced legal issues resulting in potential prison sentences. According to Hoskinson, each individual on the list has an 18% chance of being selected.
Community Response
Responses from the crypto community were mixed. Some accused Hoskinson of jealousy, implying his failure to secure a spot in the influential rankings.
Lex Blazer, a Crypto Youtuber, questioned Hoskinson’s absence from the list, saying, “I know CoinDesk is biased against you, but damn, not even once?”
Others argued that Hoskinson might be intentionally downplaying Buterin’s influence, with some suggesting a lingering rivalry between the Cardano and Ethereum communities.
The historical tension between Hoskinson and Ethereum traces back to Hoskinson’s removal from the Ethereum project years ago.
Meanwhile, the unexpected comment has added a touch of humor and controversy to the ongoing discussions surrounding crypto personalities and their influence within the industry.
